The energy frequency and/or color of a crystal can help to balance/unblock the energy frequencies (Chakras) in our bodies. To understand this better, let's go into a little more detail about Chakras, color therapy, and how to use and pick your crystals.
CHAKRAS
Everyone has seven main chakras in their body. They are pools of energy that correlate to our physical form, emotions, and mental state. Every chakra can be blocked with specific emotions which can create issues, but they can also be unblocked with colors, food, affirmations, crystals, yoga poses, essential oils, and so much more.
Root Chakra:
· Located at the base of your spine
· Survival chakra
· Blocked by fear and resonates with the color red
Sacral Chakra:
· Located just below your navel
· Allows your energy and self-expression to flow
· Blocked by guilt and resonates with the color orange
Solar Plexus Chakra:
· Also known as your digestive system
· Is your inner fire and passion
· Blocked by shame and resonates with the color yellow
Heart Chakra:
· Located behind your heart
· Naturally what allows you to feel and express love
· Blocked by grief and resonates with the color green
Throat Chakra:
· Located in the middle of your throat
· Your communication chakra that connects to your throat and ears
· Blocked by lies and resonates with the color light blue
Third Eye Chakra:
· Located right between your eyebrows
· Your intuition and base for psychic abilities
· Blocked by illusions and resonates with the color indigo
Crown Chakra:
· Located just above your head
· Your connection to the universe and unforeseen energies
· Blocked by earthly attachments and resonates with the color purple
CRYSTAL COLORS
The color of a crystal can play a huge part on the energy it carries. Due to color therapy (how the brain processes color), simply looking at a crystal can have beneficial affects.
·Red (Root) is good for grounding, (as is black, brown, and silver)
·Orange (Sacral) can help with creative flow and the flow of energy
·Yellow (Solar Plexus) is empowering
·Green and pink (Heart) are loving colors
·Light blue (Throat) is calming
·Dark blue and indigo (Third Eye) are mindful
·Purple, white, and gold (Crown) are uplifting and enlightening
If you look into each color separate from how they help the chakras, you’ll notice they each have added benefits. Black and grey are both great protection colors. So if, for example, you have an Amethyst that’s almost black or has a patch of grey across it (“smoke”) that particular piece will not only benefit the Crown, but it’ll be a good piece for protection too. Another great example is green. Most people would correlate green with nature or money, and both are benefits of green. Green is also correlated to the heart chakra because it helps us to grow as people but also grow with love in our heart. Now what does that have to do with money? Well just like the color gold, green is a prosperous color. It helps bring in opportunities for money and prosperity so that we can come closer to living comfortably and allow us to do what we love. Finally, there’s white or in some cases even clear which is the absence of color and is a very pure sight to behold. White allows us to cleanse away blockages and negativity, essentially leaving us with the absence of emotions.
HOW TO USE CRYSTALS
Crystals can be used in numerous ways. Carrying, jewelry, meditation, and altars. Carrying and jewelry allows one to feel the vibration offered through a more personal connection. Meditation allows for a more spiritual connection, which allows a more intense experience. Altars allow for a deeper spiritual connection, which allows self-expression and a better understanding of oneself.
HOW TO PICK OUT CRYSTALS
One of the biggest questions of all is how to pick out the next crystal. Similar to picking out a new wand, tarot deck, or even an accessory, it’s as simple as going for what catches your attention the most. The second biggest question is, what if I only want it because it’s pretty? Grab it! How a crystal catches your attention will vary between the piece and the person. If you continue to look at it despite how often you try to walk away or if you can’t put it down because the attachment is too strong to allow you to or even if it’s the prettiest crystal you’ve ever seen, then it’s likely to be yours.
